Meet Our Team


Barbara Kerson
President (and founder)

Barbara has been working in the bookkeeping/administration field for over 30 years.  A graduate of Trent University (B.A. 1972 ), Barbara brings extensive hands-on experience to the job.  Prior to starting RCBS, Barbara worked as the Comptroller for a local auto parts manufacturer for 15 years.  She also has experience working for a widely diverse group of clients: professionals (lawyers, architects), retail stores, and religious organizations, to name a few.  She has built a cohesive team that works together to provide our clients with exceptional “back office” support.

Jeremy Vyn

Jeremy joined RCBS in January of 2008 and has been an integral part of the development of the business.  A graduate of Conestoga College’s Accounting Program, Jeremy has worked closely with Barbara to build a team that gets the job done.  He currently provides bookkeeping support to contractors, franchise restaurants (including monthly reporting to franchisors), tech startups and professionals.  He is the staff supervisor.

Beth Dorosh, CB

Beth has been part of our team since March 2010.  She completed her bookkeeping certificate with Conestoga College and is a Certified Bookkeeper with the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping.  She has 10+ years of bookkeeping experience and brings twenty years of professional administrative experience in accounting offices.


Chris Main

Chris is a graduate of Conestoga College’s Accounting Program and joined RCBS in 2010.  Chris works both in our office in Guelph and at several client offices, providing bookkeeping support to contractors, franchise restaurants, pharmacies and auto shops, to name a few.  Chris is a QuickBooks Pro for QuickBooks online and provides support to several clients using the QuickBooks online program.


Jennifer Pelley, PCP

Jennifer has her Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certificate from the Canadian Payroll Association and a Diploma of Technology in Computer Programming. With over 12 years of bookkeeping experience in both the public and private sector she joined our team of bookkeepers in April of 2011. She provides bookkeeping support to several franchise and non-franchise restaurants as well as consultants, naturopaths, a sporting goods retailer, and beauty salons.  Jennifer is the staff member who is responsible for our yearend T4 processing.

Sarah Patmore, CB

Sarah joined the RCBS team full time in May of 2011, after completing her diploma in Business Administrative Accounting from Conestoga College.  She provides bookkeeping support to doctors, dentists, tech start-ups, contractors, clothing retailers and franchise restaurants.  Sarah assists Jennifer with the yearend T4 preparation and works on personal tax returns during tax season.


Lisa Patterson

Lisa joined RCBS in 2012.  She is working on the requirements for a Certified Bookkeeper designation.  Lisa provides bookkeeping support to lawyers, contractors, chiropractors, and franchise restaurants.

Lydia Li, CB

Lydia joined the Royal City Bookkeeping team in 2017. She is a graduate of the accounting program at Seneca College and is currently working towards becoming a member of the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping. Lydia worked as a manager at Shengjing Bank in China for 16 years before immigrating to Canada with her husband in 2011. She is fluent in Mandarin and English as a second language. Lydia has extensive experience using Spire and Windward and is an advanced Quickbooks Online Pro Advisor, and is pro certified in Quickbooks Desktop versions as well. She provides bookkeeping support to a variety of clients including retail stores, franchise and non-franchise restaurants, dentists, and contractors.

Amy Lusted

Amy is an honours graduate of the Bookkeeping Program at Conestoga College. She also has a diploma in Information Systems Technology Support from Mohawk College. Amy joined the Royal City Bookkeeping team in November 2018 after working for another local bookkeeping firm. Amy comes equipped with 3 years of in depth Sage experience. Amy provides bookkeeping support to a wide variety of professionals including doctors, wellness clinics, engineers, restaurants and condo corporations. Amy is currently working towards her Certified Bookkeeper’s designation.

Alexander Fernandez BSc, CB

Alex joined Royal City Bookkeeping Services in 2013.  He has a BSc from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of Conestoga College’s Accounting Program.  Alex provides bookkeeping support to dentists, contractors, realtors, and naturopaths.  He is working towards becoming a member of the Canadian Institute of Bookkeeping.  Alex is proficient in Excel and has developed an extensive understanding of QuickBooks Online.
